Where are you based?

The Isle was founded on the Greek Islands and is based between Ios and Perth. We travel between Greece and Australia for each summer wedding season to provide comprehensive, on-the-ground support for our couples throughout Australia and the Cycladic Islands.  During the planning phase of your special day, Georgie will be available for you online or over the phone to offer suggestions, answer your queries or even to reassure you when you need it.

How far in advance should I book your services?

Designing and planning a wedding will take roughly a year (or sometimes longer) so we suggest getting in contact with us as soon as you are ready. We usually try to lock in weddings between 8 –14 months in advance. If you are intending on having a smaller wedding or elopement, then the timeline can be more flexible. A deposit is required to secure your date and our services. Once confirmed, we begin our journey together to bring your wedding to life.

How should I budget for my wedding?

We understand that this is a personal decision for each couple. We encourage our couples to assess their wedding budget based on a few key factors:

  • shortlist elements of your wedding that you care most about

  • decide where you are willing to invest a little more or perhaps where you could pull back slightly to       prioritise another ‘must-have’ for the day

  • consider how the elements you choose will work together to create an overall feeling and ambience for your wedding

We are here to help you with these tricky decisions. We offer our expert guidance and advice on how to achieve an overall feel and ambience for your wedding. We can work within your budget to create a polished and finished look.

Do you accept commissions?

We are completely transparent with our fees. We have chosen a flat fee structure for all of our services and any discount that we receive we will pass on to our couples. For this reason, it is essential to lock in our services before booking your vendors, as we have built strong relationships in the industry, and we can negotiate with vendors on your behalf.

Do you have a recommended vendor/supplier list?

Yes, we do! We have been fortunate enough to work alongside talented vendors and suppliers in Australia and Greece. We choose vendors based on their quality of work, and their professionalism, which is vital in ensuring that your wedding day runs seamlessly and cohesively. We work within your budget to select vendors who can be trusted to bring your vision to life.

If you select our coordination service, we will provide 2-4 suggestions for vendors/suppliers while carefully considering your location, budget and style preference. We provide you with fees, availabilities, websites and social links of the vendors so you can see their previous work and make an informed decision.

If you have already locked in your dream vendors or perhaps know which vendor or supplier you would like to hire, we will gladly liaise with their team on your behalf.

Why do you recommend marrying in Ios?

Ios is the island of love, and after witnessing many love stories blossom on this enchanting island we couldn’t think of a more apt place to wed, with secluded beaches and sun-bleached cliffs framing an idyllic backdrop for your special day.

Just a short 40-minute ferry ride from Santorini, Ios shares the same sunset, yet it is quieter and more intimate than its neighbouring island. With easy ferry connections to and from Athens and other ports, Ios is well serviced by neighbouring islands, without the crowds or influx of cruise liners.

The traditional village is unique to Ios, with friendly locals and warm hospitality. No matter if you are planning an intimate elopement or a large soiree, the hotels on the island can accommodate you and your wedding guests in one place. Stay a little or stay awhile and immerse yourself in the culture of the Cycladic Islands, with endless activities right on your doorstep and authentic culinary experiences, Ios is a paradise worth exploring.

Whether Ios has stolen your heart, or you dream of exploring a new island in the Cyclades, The Isle will gladly work with you to plan an unforgettable celebration with reputable and trusted suppliers and vendors.

How many days should I spend in Greece for my destination wedding?

Our couples are often travelling or have guests from all over the world, therefore we recommend that you make the most of the opportunity to experience the Greek Islands and turn your event into a celebration that lasts. Explore Ios and immerse yourself in the beauty and culture of the Mediterranean, your wedding will be a getaway you and your guests remember forever.

Please note that for a civil ceremony you will need at least three days to process the paperwork in Ios.

How will we communicate with you?

Where possible, we love sitting down with our couples over coffee or a glass of wine. However, we are always available over the phone, or via video call, if our couples are based interstate or overseas.

I am concerned about booking our wedding during this current pandemic. What advice can you give couples?

We understand that you may be feeling nervous or anxious about your wedding; your feelings are warranted and real. We are here for you and will support you while you navigate the next few months. Most importantly, we encourage you to remember that this pandemic won’t prevent marriages, and it definitely won’t stop love.

As we look towards the future for 2021 and 2022 weddings, we suggest that you go ahead with your plans. The sooner you can secure your date with us, the better as there is a growing demand for dates and venues as many couples have postponed their 2020 events.

If you are uncertain about locking in a date just yet, perhaps be flexible with your timeline and consider which elements are most valuable to you both, whether that is your dream venue or having the suppliers you have always wanted.

We will be with you to guide you through this process and support you, and when life’s celebrations resume, we will be right there with you to pour the champagne!
