Where are you based?

The Isle was founded on the Greek Islands and is based between Ios and Perth. We travel between Greece and Australia for each summer wedding season to provide comprehensive, on-the-ground support for our couples throughout Australia and the Cycladic Islands.  During the planning phase of your special day, Georgie will be available for you online or over the phone to offer suggestions, answer your queries or even to reassure you when you need it.

How far in advance should I book your services?

Designing and planning a wedding will take roughly a year (or sometimes longer) so we suggest getting in contact with us as soon as you are ready. We usually try to lock in weddings between 8 –14 months in advance. If you require a full planning service, we recommend booking early, as we will work with you to create a timeline and schedule to confirm key bookings. If you are intending on having a smaller wedding or elopement, then the timeline can be more flexible. A deposit is required to secure your date and our services. Once confirmed, we begin our journey together to bring your wedding to life.

What are the differences between a wedding stylist, a wedding planner and an on the day coordinator?

As your wedding stylist, we design each element of your wedding for a cohesive aesthetic, by focusing on floor plans, lighting design, flower styling, furniture, décor, linen and stationery. We will use your ideas as our inspiration to create a concept design, bringing together your wish list while exploring exciting options that our expert team have curated just for you.

A wedding planner will be at your complete disposal throughout your journey with continued support, access to recommended suppliers, and expert knowledge for a relaxed and enjoyable experience right up until the day of your wedding. When hiring The Isle, you can be assured that every detail is considered and planned. Leave the logistics to us; we will be the point of call for vendors and suppliers during the planning phase and on the day of your wedding. Our planning service includes on the day coordination, where we will be present to manage the timing and oversee your entire wedding day.

An on the day coordinator will be there to assist with running your wedding day alongside the venue manager. Our service extends beyond what is deemed to be the usual role of a coordinator, as we begin our communication eight weeks prior to your wedding. We will ensure that each vendor has the necessary information for your day to run smoothly. We will also be the point of contact to field any questions and give directions so that you and your family can relax and be present on the day. We suggest securing your date with us as soon as possible so that you don’t miss out.

In addition to our services, we provide an option that includes all of these elements. We understand that each wedding is unique and that’s why we work with our couples to choose the right services for their wedding, that ensure continuity with vendors and provide the resources that our couples need for their special day.

How should I budget for my wedding?

We understand that this is a personal decision for each couple. We encourage our couples to assess their wedding budget based on a few key factors:

  • shortlist elements of your wedding that you care most about

  • decide where you are willing to invest a little more or perhaps where you could pull back slightly to       prioritise another ‘must-have’ for the day

  • consider how the elements you choose will work together to create an overall feeling and ambience for your wedding

We are here to help you with these tricky decisions. We offer our expert guidance and advice on how to achieve an overall feel and ambience for your wedding. We can work within your budget to create a polished and finished look.

Do you accept commissions?

We are completely transparent with our fees. We have chosen a flat fee structure for all of our services and any discount that we receive we will pass on to our couples. For this reason, it is essential to lock in our services before booking your vendors, as we have built strong relationships in the industry, and we can negotiate with vendors on your behalf.

Do you have a recommended vendor/supplier list?

Yes, we do! We have been fortunate enough to work alongside talented vendors and suppliers in Australia and Greece. We choose vendors based on their quality of work, and their professionalism, which is vital in ensuring that your wedding day runs seamlessly and cohesively. We work within your budget to select vendors who can be trusted to bring your vision to life.

If you select our planning service, we will provide 2-4 suggestions for vendors/suppliers while carefully considering your location, budget and style preference. We provide you with fees, availabilities, websites and social links of the vendors so you can see their previous work and make an informed decision.

If you have already locked in your dream vendors or perhaps know which vendor or supplier you would like to hire, we will gladly liaise with their team on your behalf.

What is the difference between your Curated package and Tailored service?

Our Curated package is all-inclusive and ideal for couples who would like The Isle to guide, plan and support them throughout their wedding journey. This package is designed at the time of booking, which means your total investment is quoted upfront. Our Curated service is the perfect option if you would like The Isle to handle all aspects of your wedding so you can relax, enjoy the lead-up and focus on the moment.

Whether you are dreaming of an idyllic destination wedding, elopement or a celebration in Australia, our Tailored services offer a bespoke approach to planning your wedding. Our range of services are designed for you to select the key elements you require, whether that is on the day coordination, styling or floristry, we can add the services you need to finesse your event.

Why do you recommend marrying in Ios?

Ios is the island of love, and after witnessing many love stories blossom on this enchanting island we couldn’t think of a more apt place to wed, with secluded beaches and sun-bleached cliffs framing an idyllic backdrop for your special day.

Just a short 40-minute ferry ride from Santorini, Ios shares the same sunset, yet it is quieter and more intimate than its neighbouring island. With easy ferry connections to and from Athens and other ports, Ios is well serviced by neighbouring islands, without the crowds or influx of cruise liners.

The traditional village is unique to Ios, with friendly locals and warm hospitality. No matter if you are planning an intimate elopement or a large soiree, the hotels on the island can accommodate you and your wedding guests in one place. Stay a little or stay awhile and immerse yourself in the culture of the Cycladic Islands, with endless activities right on your doorstep and authentic culinary experiences, Ios is a paradise worth exploring.

Whether Ios has stolen your heart, or you dream of exploring a new island in the Cyclades, The Isle will gladly work with you to plan an unforgettable celebration with reputable and trusted suppliers and vendors.

How many days should I spend in Greece for my destination wedding?

Our couples are often travelling or have guests from all over the world, therefore we recommend that you make the most of the opportunity to experience the Greek Islands and turn your event into a celebration that lasts. Explore Ios and immerse yourself in the beauty and culture of the Mediterranean, your wedding will be a getaway you and your guests remember forever.

Please note that for a civil ceremony you will need at least three days to process the paperwork in Ios.

We love the idea of a wedding on Ios, but we can’t get there to view venues, can you help us?

We would love to help you! Our Venue Scouting service is designed specifically for couple’s who are dreaming of an Ios wedding or elopement but don’t have the time to travel to do the research themselves. We have the local knowledge and the contacts to find the perfect venue for your celebration. We always begin by asking questions so that we can truly understand your wedding vision. We will do the research for you based on your requirements and present you with the information you need to book your wedding venue with confidence. Whether you are planning an intimate elopement or a large wedding, we will search the island to find a venue that fulfils your wedding day dreams.

How will we communicate with you?

Where possible, we love sitting down with our couples over coffee or a glass of wine. However, we are always available over the phone, or via video call, if our couples are based interstate or overseas.

I am concerned about booking our wedding during this current pandemic. What advice can you give couples?

We understand that you may be feeling nervous or anxious about your wedding; your feelings are warranted and real. We are here for you and will support you while you navigate the next few months. Most importantly, we encourage you to remember that this pandemic won’t prevent marriages, and it definitely won’t stop love.

As we look towards the future for 2021 and 2022 weddings, we suggest that you go ahead with your plans. The sooner you can secure your date with us, the better as there is a growing demand for dates and venues as many couples have postponed their 2020 events.

If you are uncertain about locking in a date just yet, perhaps be flexible with your timeline and consider which elements are most valuable to you both, whether that is your dream venue or having the suppliers you have always wanted.

We will be with you to guide you through this process and support you, and when life’s celebrations resume, we will be right there with you to pour the champagne!
